Funny

Watford just scored a lucky second goal against Leeds, it was funny and painful to watch the deflections. Reading the paper now and it talks about the Nokia N91 being the end of the iPod Nano. I thought the same thing with my mobile with a large memory stick. And this mobile also has a 2 megapixel camera.

Doubt it - the iPod has a name. People will buy it just for that.
Apparently people in London walk around with white headphones, even if they don't have an iPod, just to look like they *do*. Weird. ;)

I used to wear mine (until I stepped on them) as they're quite good headphones, and I have heard (and seen) some people using iPod headphones without iPods - and thought how sad they are. Back when iPods first came out, thieves used to target people based on the headphones, so early adopters often switched to black ones. I really like my Shure headphones, I'm tempted to buy a better model. I think the next one up is about 150 quid, but they look slightly more comfortable and are meant to sound even better. The top of the range ones are even more expensive again (and silly money). It doesn't seem worth it when there's so much noise on the work laptop (cheap onboard sound, I might buy one of those USB devices by Creative or someone else/better) and my mobile, the iPod has one of the cleanest audio outputs I've come across.
Mobiles have names too! Sadly, I now carry around my work mobile, so I still have to carry two things around at once in my left pocket.

Lee bought a Sony USB mp3 player (think it's got about 2GB of space on it) and he loves it. It's a fab little thing, and I don't think it was any more expensive than an iPod. I got told by someone recently (might have been on the newsgroups at work actually) that iPod build quality had gone downhill quite dramatically, so I'm not entirely convinced that I'd buy one. I'd be very inclined to get the Creative one if it wasn't so bloody ugly. ;)
I think the screens aren't quite as durable as they used to be. And iPods have always been expensive - the only reason someone like Creative hasn't taken over the market is because Apple is one of the few companies that can offer legal music to go with the player (with none of that Napster subscription rubbish), and they refuse to share or licence their technology with anyone else. I know that pisses off a lot of people, especially the French, but if I owned Apple I'd probably do exactly the same - opening up the music store would reduce hardware sales, but I suspect once the marketplace is saturated with MPEG-4 players they'll licence FairPlay to boost sales.
