Music Is Rubbish

On my way to work this morning I turned the radio on for the second time in the last couple of weeks. I heard the same song playing as last time. Given the simple/crap lyrics, I was able to remember one particularly painful line (the sort of thing that John Keats might have written in his early days as a poet), which led me to this: Gym Class Heroes (featuring Neon Hitch) - Ass Back Home. I haven't double checked that this is the right song, as I'm at work, but it looks like it's right (how many other songs have "We put the us in trust, baby" in them?).
Where to start? The lyrics are rubbish. The singing is painfully auto-tuned. The music is bland. Is this seriously the best that Radio One can play on a Monday morning.
Maybe I'm getting old, but popular music appears to be rubbish. Maybe I should think about buying this t-shirt. Coldplay would probably have to fit into the middle of that diagram (I remember being a huge fan of "Such A Rush", playing it repeatedly on loop over a decade ago).

I've checked out the samples on Amazon from the Ting Ting's new album, and I can't help think that I want to listen to some Beastie Boys and RHCP. Maybe a bit of Beyonce and Jay-Z. Or even Lily Allen. I think I'll be buying the few tracks I like instead of the whole album.
I gave up on Radio 1 long ago. I don't even listen to the radio anymore, never enough time and it just grates on my nerves. I hear something, I download it. As simple as that. I am wondering about the new TingTings album too. I liked their first one.
