I keep reading about exam papers with wrong answers. I'm sure a lot of smart people wasted time trying to work out the correct answer, but I'm fed up of reading things like "the time I lost spent on that question could possibly have cost me a university place". If the question was worth 1 out of 425 marks available, such as in this latest case, then it won't significantly affect your result as long as you didn't spend too long on that question. The really smart people would realise that either they didn't know how to work it out or decide that all of the answers were all wrong and move on to other questions so they didn't waste (for example) 20% of the exam time on a question worth 0.2% of the exam.
