Surprised? I'm Not

According to BBC News, a video of a Wallace and Gromit film to be televised on the BBC on Christmas Day has been removed from YouTube. Several clips from A Matter of Loaf and Death, totalling 30 minutes, had been placed on the video-sharing website. Bristol-based Aardman Animations, which created Wallace and Gromit, said it had "no idea" how the material had got out. The film, which was posted by Joshua of Waterloo, Canada, featured poor sound and appeared to be a live recording from a video camera or mobile phone.

My guess would be it "got out" after it premiered in Australia on ABC1 on Wednesday, December 3. And then they act surprised when it ends up on YouTube before Christmas. I'm mostly surprised that a low quality version was uploaded to YouTube, seeing as it was a PDTV broadcast that appears to be widely available over the internet. Although, for obvious reasons, I suggest you watch it on BBC One rather than illegally downloading it. If you can wait until March, you can buy it on DVD too.

Why does a British company premier its product in Oz of all places? Surely that is a really stupid decision assuming the biggest fan base is here in the UK?
