QI

I was looking forward to watching a new episode of QI last night, on BBC Four, until I realised that it was a repeat of the first ever show. It's odd seeing Hugh Laurie on there, now that he's a huge star in American actor. I'd forgotten all about his small roles in Friends and Spooks, now I want to go back and watch them (which will be quite easy, seeing as I have both on DVD). Laurie is reported to currently earn $350,000 per episode and has extended his contract for an additional year, allowing for at least a fifth season to be produced, so there's plenty more House to look forward to. Assuming the Writers Guild of America ever end their strike.

I've discovered why there wasn't a new episode of QI on BBC Four:
Episode 11 (Endings), which you all saw on BBC2, was actually filmed very early on in the series of recordings (I should know: I was there). All 12 episodes are recorded over 6 consecutive weeks in May/June, on Thursdays and Fridays. The order of episodes is then sorted out in post-production. So Stephen and Alan are there for all the episodes.
The announcer was indeed wrong, although the Radio Times wasn't - no new episode on BBC4 this week...however...there are actually 2 more episodes to come. Episode 12 (Empire) is the Christmas Special and episode 13 (Elephants) is a bloopers/deleted scenes episode. The reason episode 12 wasn't on BBC4 this week is because the BBC want to air it as close to Christmas as possible. It'll be shown on BBC4 on Friday 7th December and on BBC2 on Friday 14th December, with Elephants the following week.
